Selling Your Home: Where is the best place to start?

Get a free phone consult from your local realtor...Me!

Call me!

If you are considering selling your home, it’s never too early call an experienced real estate agent.

When you contact me, I will help you set up a plan to keep you on the path to a successful home sale and potentially a new home purchase.

Even if your plan is long term, we can discuss how to keep you on track over the year(s).

Is there anything I can do before I call you?

You can read my post, Ready to Sell? The 3 “D”s  to get some ideas for preparing your home. Decluttering, Depersonalizing and Donating will get you in the right mindset.

You can also collect important documents related to your home.  Find your survey and HOA/Condo documents.  Start writing down dates of recent upgrades.  Think about what you loved about your home when you first bought it.

Then call me and we can start a personalized plan to get your home ready. We will talk about your home and if you think you are ready to go, we will schedule an in-person meeting at your home.  If you think you need more time, we can still discuss your options.

If you are thinking...what if I lived in my home for decades?

I wish there was a math equation that we could use to determine how long it would take to stage your home for sale…. a month per decade? Unless you are not sentimental and don’t really hold on to things, it’s honestly going to take longer than you think to get your house ready.

Does this feel too overwhelming?

That’s a great reason to still reach out to me now. A little direction and even some “hand holding” can go a long way. Getting your home ready can seem daunting and you might even get discouraged.  Don’t!

I hold the NAR designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and I understand the unique challenges older homeowners can experience. I went through this with my own parents when they were selling my childhood home filled with 40+ years of memories.   If you need extra help, I can give you some great resources and people who can help you.

Think about how often do you visit the storage in your basement or garage? Probably not often enough to remember everything that is there. Emptying those treasures can be fun! It can also be time consuming and sometimes overwhelming. You can easily get distracted by your memories and there goes the day!

What hidden fees are there when working with a Real Estate Agent?

None! I promise to be front and transparent with you from the beginning.  A CMA (Comparative Market Analysis) will help determine your home’s selling price and you should never be charged for this advice.  There are no expenses paid to me until we sell your home. I can even give you an estimate worksheet to help determine what you will pay for at closing.

Once you sign the Listing Agreement, you will be in a contract with me to sell your home.  My company charges a fee (taken out at closing) and you will be required to pay me a commission fee when your home sells. Again, this is deducted from your proceeds at closing.

Selling a home is not an everyday occurrence and my goal is to make the process as seamless as possible for you.
