A Beautiful Day In Wadsworth: Civil War Reenactment At Mount Rest

Reliving History in Wadsworth Illinois

My family and I had the distinct honor and immense pleasure of attending the Civil War Reenactment at Mount Rest Cemetery on Saturday, September 21, 2024. This moving event was held to commemorate the service and mark the grave of Samuel E. Ames, who served during the Civil War.

It was thoughtfully organized by the Ansel Brainerd Cook Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR), whose dedication to preserving our nation’s history was evident throughout the program. The reenactment brought history to life, allowing attendees to step back in time and reflect on the sacrifices made by so many in the pursuit of our nation’s freedom.
